Carmel Fire Department Headquarters and Museum Project Takes a Step Forward
Envoy selected as construction management partner; Design underway
CARMEL, IN – The new Carmel Fire Department headquarters and museum project is one step closer to breaking ground. Announced today, Envoy, Inc. has been selected as the construction management partner for the transformational public safety project. Design plans are currently underway.
“The new CFD headquarters and museum project is a much-needed investment in our community’s public safety facilities,” said Clay Township Board President, Mary Eckard. “Our community continues to grow, and it is of utmost importance that our first responders and fire department officials are able to serve the residents efficiently and effectively.”
Announced in June as a part of Clay Township’s $60 million park and public safety improvement plan, the new Carmel Fire Department headquarters will be located at 210 Veterans Way in Midtown Carmel. Currently, the home of the Carmel Fire Buffs Museum, plans for the new facility also include a museum and interactive educational experience.
“We are honored to be selected as the construction partner for the Carmel Fire Department headquarters project,” said Scott Baldwin, president of Envoy, Inc. “Envoy’s portfolio includes several state-of-the-art fire safety facilities, as well as high-quality office projects. Our experience ensures the new headquarters and museum will be an impressive community asset for years to come.”
Improvements include a five-story building and will house the Carmel Fire Department’s administrative offices on the second floor and a new museum on the first floor. Also planned for the first floor, is the Survive Alive Village—an interactive experience that educates children about fire safety. Additional facility amenities include community gathering spaces for events and meetings.
The project is currently in design and is expected to break ground in the spring of 2020.
